The city of afforestation, Kazamatsuri.
In this city built upon the ideal coexistence of civilization and the environment, Tennoji Kotaro spends his days with his friends, Kanbe Kotori and Yoshino Haruhiko. In this peaceful city, a tumultuous event shakes the foundations of Kazamatsuri once a year.

The harvest festival. Within this immense scale event, Kotaro collects all sorts of information. There are always rumors about unidentified creatures and the occult.

At the same time, mysterious happenings keep befalling Kotaro. He takes up the offer to help Senri Akane, the club president of the Occult Research Society and begins an investigation that will end up involving his fellow classmates.

To Kotaro, this created a lively and adventurous feel. To be able to spend time with this energetic and boisterous group was just right for him.

But there’s something Kotaro doesn’t know.
He has yet to learn that his adventure is connected to a journey towards the “truth” that no one else has discovered.

A girl who recently transferred to Kotarou's school. Chihaya is a sheltered, socially unaware girl who's a surprisingly tough fighter. Her klutzy nature often leads to Kotarou having to help her out, while her inability to be honest always leads to verbal arguments between them.

Others find it hard to tell whether she's interested in him or actually hates him.

The president of the school's Occult Research Society. Often called "The Witch of the Academy," Akane is famous among some students as an almost supernatural being.

Despite her frail appearance, she's even more arrogant than Kotarou and has a strangely plain disposition.

Her words and mannerisms often make it seem like there's more to her than meets the eye, but no one knows if there is any truth to that.

Kotarou's junior. Sizuru is a silent, honest girl belonging to the disciplinary committee. Though you can't expect her to speak much, her vibrant expressions and mannerisms oftentimes say it all.

She barely does any work as a member of the disciplinary committee, but she tends to use her authority just to get Kotarou's attention.

The eyepatch merely hides her heterochromia, and Sizuru never takes it off while in front of people she doesn't know. She also loves saury.

The class representative. Lucia is so charismatic that she's known for it even outside her own class. She's also a bit of a clean-freak with next to no experience with men.

Lucia is often caught up in Kotarou's shenanigans and ends up having to scold him rather often.

She has calm and collected attitude and a love for spicy food (the school cafeteria has an ultra-hot menu made up of dishes so spicy that she's the only one who can eat them.) Despite often being the center of attention, she doesn't like standing out too much.
