October 24^th, 2025 (Los Angeles, CA) – Sekai Project is proud to announce that the yuri-themed game, Watamari Part2 – A Fake Marriage? by Japanese developer Kuro Irodoru Yomiji is coming to PC on the Steam platform. This game seeks to break away from traditional visual novel games and is a sequel to Watamari Part1 – A Match Made in Heaven, which was first released on Steam in September 2022.

Setting

The Watamari story takes place in the prestigious St. Leanne Girl’s Academy where our heroines become wrapped in intrigue and drama. A breakaway from standard visual novel storytelling, the story unfolds through the perspective of different characters which gives the reader a fresh way to enjoy the story.

The heroine, Hoshino Hikari is a spy who transfers to St. Leanne Girl’s Academy to uncover its secrets. The protagonist, Yata Hime is her liaison officer who has been working in this capacity since she was a child. As a cover, they start a fake relationship with each other but soon this fake romance is anything but when Hikari finds herself pinned down by a love-stricken Hime.

Unique Player Character Perspective

This is where the uniqueness of Watamari Part2 stands out. A new character, Yakumo Nene is introduced. She is the resident problem child of the academy having already been held back a year and spends most of her time hiding in her dorm room.

It is her desire to see girls fall in love with each other and she acts in secret to bring Hikari and Hime closer together. She possesses a unique ability to summon “imaginary angels” (you, the player character) to do her bidding. There are scenes where Nene will communicate to her angels (you) via internal dialogue.

In-Game Vtuber

Another unique aspect of Watamari Part2 is the use of the concept of Vtubers in the story. Nene’s character motions changes when she assumes her Vtuber persona. The movement of her body captures the essence of what fans of Vtubers are accustomed to.

For users who are themselves streamers, the interactions may seem more realistic than you think. Perhaps her dialogue with you the player may seem to anticipate this somehow…? Even for users who are not streamers, this gameplay aspect adds another layer to what makes Watamari Part2 a unique departure from traditional visual novels.

As the angels, you must make the right choices and guide the heroines. In addition, you must look after the wellbeing and provide mental care during the internal dialogue scenes. There are no rest days for you, little angel.

The heroine, Hikari, was chosen to be marked by Virgo in a ritual when she transferred to St. Leanne Girl’s Academy. This awakens a power that allows her to traverse time but more often than not she is at the mercy of what happens when those powers activate.

The protagonist, Hime, comes under the influence of a charm spell that Hikari accidentally casts on her. This causes Hime to fall in love with Hikari. In order to accomplish her job as a spy, Hime has to search for a way to break the effects of that spell.

Event scene illustrations featuring this main couple is drawn by popular mangaka/illustrator, Chigusa Minori (Shino to Koi).

For other couples, those scenes will be illustrated by other yuri mangaka as well.

Theme Song

The theme song to Watamari Part2 is being composed by a popular VocaloidP who has been featured in collaborations with McDonalds Japan. A music video featuring this theme song will be made public at a later date next month.
